fudgesmart only use branded genuine or Mahle oil filters and recommend either 5w40 synthetic or 10w40 Semi Synthetic oil to Mercedes-Benz standards. Our oil of preference is Fuchs or Castrol 5w40 synthetic, in higher mileage cars we recommend a slightly thicker oil and we use a Volkswagen product made by Castrol or Fuchs it’s a 10w40 Semi Synthetic, this oil still meets the mb229.1 standard that’s way higher than the standard as set when your engine was designed.
